Guided hikes and forest walks

Our men’s nature retreats bring guided hiking together with breathwork, meditation and mindfulness exercises in the Lake District. Sometimes we summit a high mountain. Sometimes we walk through woodland and make room to notice the forest around us.

The route shapes the day. Walking is part of the experience, alongside pauses for guided practices and time together outside. Each event explains the distance, terrain and activities planned, so you can choose a day that feels right for you.

Water, where the day allows

Cold water sessions can take place in waterfalls, lakes or rivers, depending on the route and conditions. Water is one part of the day, rather than a promise at every stop. Read the retreat listing to see what is planned, and follow the guidance given on the day.

You can take a break or sit out an activity. Read the safety and suitability guidance before booking, and ask us about the format if you’re unsure.

One day, out in nature

These are day retreats. Overnight accommodation is not part of this format. The meeting point, start and finish times, walking level, price and what to bring belong to the individual event listing.

You don’t need experience of meditation or breathwork. Walking requirements vary: a mountain day and a forest walk ask different things of you. Check the route details rather than assuming every retreat has the same level of activity.

Planning your day

Is every retreat a mountain hike?

No. Some days include a mountain summit; others follow forest paths and gentler walks. The event description sets out the actual route and walking level.

Do all retreats include cold water?

The planned activities depend on the route. Lakes, rivers and waterfalls can form part of a day, but conditions matter. Check your event details and follow the guidance on the day.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. These retreats bring men together through a shared day outside. You can come alone, and there is no expectation to share anything personal.

What do I need to bring?

Use the kit list on your chosen retreat. Footwear, clothing, food, water and any swimming kit need to suit that route and the conditions. Ask before booking if you have a question about the walking involved.
